I am the senior author of the paper covered here. This is a fair and accurate summary of our review. It correctly presents the work as a hypothesis rather than a finding, notes that child-bearing itself can benefit longevity, and makes clear that more research is needed before any recommendations can be made.

One clarification on the headline: our hypothesis mainly concerns the spacing of pregnancies rather than the number of births. We propose that the postpartum period is a window in which biological age recovers, and that a new pregnancy beginning before recovery is complete could allow age-related changes to accumulate. “Multiple births” may also suggest twins or triplets to some readers, which is not the subject of the paper.

Whether short interpregnancy intervals cause lasting acceleration of biological aging remains untested and will require long-term longitudinal studies.
