The Lancet Commission presented a thorough review of global trends of liver cancer incidence and modelled how these could be improved with interventions such as vaccination. They present 10 recommendations to reduce the global incidence of this cancer type. They found at least 60% of cases of liver cancer are preventable, and improving public awareness of the risk factors could improve uptake of preventative measures. They also highlight that global access to preventative measures such as vaccination and screening for HBV is limited particularly in low income countries.
