This article does a good job of providing a lay summary for a number of interesting aspects of age research. It provides a decent level of balance, in particular caveating the use of epigenetics as a readout of biological age, which is a field of substantial debate (https://doi.org/10.1186/s13059-019-1824-y). Certain research limitations and potential biases are not covered, for example research on blue zones is currently being critiqued for bias of samples used and potential misreporting of ages in certain highlighted populations (https://theconversation.com/the-data-on-extreme-human-ageing-is-rotten-from-the-inside-out-ig-nobel-winner-saul-justin-newman-239023).
