The workshop will consist of talks and open discussion with experts in the field of science journalism and misconceptions. We will introduce the AuthentiSci project and explain how the tool benefits society, science and journalism. Speakers include Dr. Doris Teutsch (Zentrum für Angewandte Kulturwissenschaft und Studium Generale at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology; expert on the impact of science communication), a science journalist (tbc), Christoph Schumacher (Alumni Manager, Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings) and representatives of AuthentiSci, Dr. Nicholas Clifton (University of Exeter, UK) and Dr. Ana Alonso-Serrano (Humboldt University Berlin and Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics).

In the second part of the workshop, there will be an opportunity to contribute directly to the review of science in the media, to test the AuthentiSci tool, to discuss its design, and to provide feedback.

Beverages and finger food will be provided.

Please note that for the second part of the workshop testers will need to have an ORCID number and a minimum of one peer-reviewed publication, to be able to review media articles via the AuthentiSci tool. Please bring your own laptop if you want to test AuthentiSci

Online participation will also be possible, but due to the interactive workshop format we encourage attendance in person if possible.

Please register here for the workshop by April 30th, 2024.

AuthentiSci is a non-profit venture, developed in partnership with the Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics and the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings, and receives funding from Stifterverband.
