There is very little evidence provided for the sensationalist headline that this article promises. There is no good description of how this link was found apart from it was found from UK Biobank data but it doesn't seem causal i.e. drinking instant coffee leads to AMD. The article attempts to be balanced by mentioning more research is needed, and it depends on what type of coffee etc. But ultimately the article is scare-mongering and is designed to make you think that drinking instant coffee will lead you to go blind, which there just isn't the evidence for.
