This kind of coffee could dramatically increase your risk of going blind, study finds

There is very little evidence provided for the sensationalist headline that this article promises. There is no good description of how this link was found apart from it was found from UK Biobank data but it doesn't seem causal i.e. drinking instant coffee leads to AMD. The article attempts to be balanced by mentioning more research is needed, and it depends on what type of coffee etc. But ultimately the article is scare-mongering and is designed to make you think that drinking instant coffee will lead you to go blind, which there just isn't the evidence for.

This is a well written piece because of several reasons: the article clearly states what previous evidence there was, what evidence there is now and also the limitations of current evidence. The piece is written is a very balanced way by stating all the facts in order of time. Although I found the piece easy to read, there is still the lack of clarity on how many steps a day we should be doing. Because the new figure is 7000 but this is only compared to 2000. And is also dependent on a lot of other factors such as stride length etc.

Very clearly explained article with a good level of background science explanation. I would have liked them to expand on what they think the mutation is doing if it isn't making a protein. I also think the additional information about using AI to diagnose from facial features was perhaps not necessary or could be expanded upon.
